Louvre Abu Dhabi is elevating its commitment to combining art, knowledge, and family spirit in 2026 through a rich variety of interactive programmes and innovative activities designed for people of all ages. With this year marked as the “Year of Family,” the museum is inviting families to create inspiring memories beneath its iconic dome, providing an atmosphere that encourages family bonding and offers abundant opportunities for learning, fun, and mutual discovery.
According to Maral Bedoyan, Education and Learning Resources Manager at Louvre Abu Dhabi, the carefully curated programme of diverse activities reflects the museum’s mission to remain a welcoming cultural destination where families can enjoy quality time together. The museum aims to provide an inspiring cultural environment that promotes deeper learning and interaction, perfectly aligning with the objectives of the Year of Family in the UAE.
Bedoyan explained that these educational and creative experiences are created to suit all ages and feature a variety of options, such as family weekends, after-school activities, and self-guided experiences. Among these is the interactive digital treasure hunt The Secret of the Dome Stars, along with immersive experiences and narrative family tours.
The museum’s dedication to families is clear in its extensive offerings this year, as it is allocating more than 120 days to family-oriented activities. This underlines a true commitment to sustainable and diverse experiences that encourage shared learning and broad-based cultural engagement throughout the year.
One of the standout new offerings for 2026 is the Breezi floating breathwork sessions, organised in close collaboration with Breezi and conducted beneath the museum’s domed roof. These unique sessions are led by specialised instructors and blend guided breathing techniques with immersive sound effects, asking participants aged 12 and above to float and follow guided instructions. The aim is to foster deep relaxation and focus, providing unique moments of release and renewal in a captivating setting.
These Breezi sessions are scheduled to take place from 1st to 3rd May and from 22nd to 24th May, 2026, including specially timed evening and sunset sessions. Additionally, as part of its health and wellness programme, the museum will host a free family screening of the Oscar-winning animated film Inside Out on the evening of 2nd May at Louvre Abu Dhabi Theatre. Admission is free, with prior registration required.
Bedoyan also stated that, in harmony with the Year of Family, family weekend programmes have been extended throughout the year. Seasonal programmes like summer and winter camps have also grown, with a stronger emphasis on collective participation and intergenerational exchange, reinforcing the museum’s role as a place where families and communities can gather and connect.
