Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2026 Achieves Record-Breaking AED550 Million in Sales
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has concluded the 36th edition of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2026, recording a milestone AED550 million in sales. This figure marks a 10 percent increase compared to the 2025 edition, reflecting the festival’s growing influence on Sharjah’s retail sector and its role in strengthening the emirate’s position as a prime hub for shopping and family tourism.
Themed “Ramadan Spirit in the Heart of Sharjah,” the festival formed a vital part of the emirate’s broad shopping promotions for 2025–2026, which commenced on 1st December. The event attracted widespread participation from major shopping malls and retail outlets, offering discounts of up to 75 percent on both local and international brands, further establishing Sharjah as a leading shopping destination in the region.
A grand closing ceremony at Mega Mall included prize draws where 15 winners each received shopping vouchers worth AED 10,000 and gold bars. Overall, the festival’s incentive programme, valued at AED3 million, benefited more than 300 winners, adding to the festive excitement.
One of the festival’s standout initiatives was the launch of “Al Dhaid and Fili Nights” at Souq Shari’at Al Dhaid and Fili Heritage Souq. These events featured vibrant cultural activities and raffle draws awarding two Nissan Patrol vehicles, enriching the community’s engagement and cultural experience.
The diverse programme included engaging heritage performances, competitions, daily quiz shows, and the innovative “Young Influencer” programme, which encouraged children to participate in content creation. Educational workshops on traditional arts and handicrafts supported productive families and entrepreneurs, further promoting Sharjah’s cultural identity.
A major highlight was the “Ramadan Nights” exhibition at Expo Centre Sharjah, which brought together over 210 exhibitors representing around 700 brands. Attendees enjoyed a blend of retail, entertainment, and heritage experiences. The exhibition’s “Heritage Village” offered insights into authentic Emirati traditions and celebrated the cultural essence of Ramadan.
Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, stated that the festival exemplifies the Chamber’s strategy to enhance Sharjah’s position as a prominent retail and tourism centre while promoting economic growth and community cohesion.
He noted the festival’s alignment with the UAE’s “Year of the Family”, aiming to provide inclusive experiences for all members.
Jamal Saeed Bouzanjal, General Coordinator of the festival, emphasized the event’s commitment to improving interactive experiences for families and children while expanding its reach across the emirate.
Festival activities reached the Central and Eastern Regions, offering a variety of cultural events, youth programmes, and sports initiatives, such as the “Sharq Ramadan Football Championship” and community competitions. Further, initiatives like “Your Iftar Is Ready” embodied the humanitarian spirit of Ramadan, fostering community solidarity and social engagement.
With its extensive programme, community outreach, and record-breaking sales, the Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2026 solidified its status as a cornerstone of the emirate’s economic and cultural calendar.
