CoLabs and Abdulmonem Al Rashed Humanitarian Foundation Launch Cross-Regional Arts and Culture Partnership

In a significant development for the arts and cultural sectors across the Middle East, North Africa (MENA), and Southeast Asia, CoLabs and the Abdulmonem Al Rashed Humanitarian Foundation have announced a new strategic partnership. This collaboration is designed to foster greater cultural exchange, artistic innovation, and community engagement between the two regions, which are both rooted in rich and diverse cultural histories.

At the heart of this new partnership is a shared vision to support the growth of the creative sector and empower emerging artists from both regions. The partnership aims to develop a framework for cross-regional collaboration and dialogue among cultural professionals, enabling them to co-create and showcase new works that reflect the blended narratives of their home cultures. Key initiatives include joint exhibitions, residencies, and artistic exchange programs that connect creators, curators, and audiences.

A central focus will be placed on building sustainable platforms to highlight underrepresented voices and explore themes related to identity, heritage, and the power of art as a vehicle for social change. By leveraging each organization’s network, the program intends to generate opportunities for artists and arts organizations at multiple levels.

As mentioned in the announcement, “We are committed to providing a meaningful platform for our communities to come together, share ideas, and build enduring cultural bridges.” The partnership reflects both organizations’ missions to promote mutual understanding and tolerance through the arts.

The first wave of collaborative projects is expected to launch later this year, with efforts guided by a steering committee made up of leaders from both CoLabs and the Abdulmonem Al Rashed Humanitarian Foundation. These projects are anticipated to include high-profile group exhibitions, interdisciplinary workshops, and community outreach efforts in both regions.

This partnership has the potential to reshape the creative landscape between MENA and Southeast Asia, encouraging intercultural dialogue and a global appreciation for the unique stories and artistic talents found within these communities.
