Dubai Culture Launches Second Edition of Piano Camp to Nurture Young Emirati Musical Talent

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the launch of the second edition of Piano Camp, an initiative held in strategic partnership with House of Pianos. Designed to identify and nurture aspiring young musicians, this programme is dedicated to cultivating a new wave of Emirati piano performers. It reflects the Authority’s committed efforts to empower creative talent and enrich Dubai’s cultural landscape.

The Piano Camp operates under the banner of the Dubai Cultural Grant, a flagship programme within the emirate’s Quality of Life Strategy. Scheduled to run from October 2025 to May 2026, the camp will select 50 participants aged 6 to 17, along with 10 young adults aged 18 and above.

Participants will immerse themselves in both classical and Arabic piano repertoire, receiving a strong grounding in music theory and history. The camp will deliver hands-on sessions and masterclasses led by distinguished local teachers and musicians. This second edition also introduces specialized workshops in piano tuning and maintenance for those 14 years and older. For those pursuing professional music careers, the programme offers long-term mentorship opportunities. Field trips to leading institutions across the UAE will further enable knowledge exchange and foster cultural community connections.

Emirati musicians are encouraged to apply, with registration opening on 1 August 2025 and closing on 15 September 2025. Application forms and additional details can be found at: https://houseofpianos-uae.com/piano-camp-2025/. A dedicated evaluation panel will review submissions, with selected candidates grouped by age and skill level.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Shaima Rashed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Arts, Design & Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to music’s role in Dubai’s creative economy, stating:
“Through our diverse programs, we seek to unlock the sector’s potential and support sustained growth by nurturing a new wave of talent, who will contribute fresh perspectives and energy to Dubai’s vibrant arts scene.”
She also emphasized: “Initiatives like the Piano Camp are central to our vision of building innovative platforms for youth and emerging artists. These offerings open doors for learning, artistic development, and mentorship. We remain dedicated to creating an environment that inspires young people to realize their ambitions, refine their craft, and make a lasting impact on the emirate’s cultural and creative industries—further establishing Dubai as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity, and a thriving hub for talent.”

The first edition of Piano Camp, concluded in April 2025, offered 480 one-on-one piano lessons, six masterclasses with internationally renowned artists, and six student concerts at Steinway Hall – Dubai. Graduates competed in the 1st Steinway Piano Competition GCC 2025 and performed at iconic cultural events, such as the Sikka Art & Design Festival and Art Dubai 2025.
