Tanweer Festival Set to Illuminate Mleiha Desert This November
The Tanweer Festival will once again transform the Mleiha desert in Sharjah into a vibrant gathering spot for culture lovers, nature enthusiasts, and creative spirits from 21st to 23rd November 2025. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, the festival returns to the heart of the Mleiha region, a location celebrated for its natural beauty and archaeological importance.
Rooted in the visionary leadership of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Tanweer was founded to champion cultural dialogue, spiritual growth, and sustainability. Inspired by a belief in the transformative power of music, nature, and shared human experiences, Sheikha Bodour envisioned Tanweer as a platform that transcends borders, connects communities, and nurtures a deeper understanding of our shared humanity.
Over three days, visitors will experience a vibrant programme featuring music, visual art, and diverse cultural activities, all designed to foster creative and social engagement. The festival’s ethos revolves around inclusivity, bringing together audiences from different backgrounds to embrace unity through art and nature.
Under the guidance of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, the Tanweer Festival has placed enduring emphasis on environmental sustainability, community engagement, and the celebration of diversity. Her commitment continues to serve as the festival’s foundation, emphasizing meaningful collaboration, dialogue, and shared experiences.
In the words of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi: “We are thrilled to bring Tanweer Festival back for its second edition, and this time, it’s even more ambitious, immersive, and meaningful. Last year’s debut was just the beginning of a journey that resonated deeply with so many people, and this year we are building on that foundation with a richer programme, stronger sustainability practices, and an even more powerful message of unity. I truly can’t wait to welcome our growing community back to the Mleiha desert to continue this journey together.”
This year’s edition is inspired by the theme, ‘What you Seek Is Seeking You’, drawing from the legendary 13th-century poet and mystic Rumi, whose messages transcend cultures and generations. Like Tanweer itself, Rumi’s teachings encourage inner exploration, a return to the natural world, and the discovery of unity within diversity — values that are central to the festival’s spirit.
With a richer programme, a deepened commitment to sustainability, and a renewed message of unity, the upcoming Tanweer Festival promises to continue its journey toward becoming a beacon of enlightenment, creativity, and togetherness in the region.
